Dynamic Offset for Text Effects

In a recent Inkscape Forum Challenge, a participant named @jobot did a Goldilocks image with a nice-looking use of dynamic offset with text, inspiring me to try some examples on my own.

Basic Steps

  1. Enter text (The font matters)
  2. Choose font appropriate to the text subject
  3. Duplicate text (change color for visibility)
  4. Convert to path
  5. Combine the text/path to make all letters into one path
  6. Apply Dynamic Offset and drag handle to eliminate voids
  7. Move copy/offset to bottom
  8. Adjust
  9. Add colors and stroke as desired

Fonts Used:
Goldilocks: Basteleur
Housebound: Call of Opps Duty
Planetfall: Blambot Bulletproof

While the default result, with even offset all around is good, you can get an enhanced shadow effect by shifting the lower, expanded, path.
