Clip Hook
My pocket caliper (which I use a lot during 3D design) often "disappears" on the table next to my laptop. Then I put papers down on top of it. Then I search for the caliper, moving papers, knocking things off the table, getting frustrated.
I need to get organized.
There's an open-top case next to the desk. It has a thin edge. I could hang things there. If only I had a set of clips to hold the little things that don't have their own built-in clips.
So far, I've made three versions.
The hooks can be made to fit all sorts of objects. The size is adjustable: width, depth and thickness.
The bottom (as for the knife) is optional.
For what it's worth, the images all show clips hanging from my laptop screen which is about the same thickness as the edge of the open-top case. That is still too messy to use for photos, but now there's hope for improvement.
This project expects that you'll modify the dimensions to suit your needs. The sample STL file is less useful, in that regard, than the OpenSCAD file, in which you can adjust sizes, exporting the STL files yourself.
Available Files:
cliphook.scad - cliphook.stl (caliper) - appx. 45min to print the calipers version on Lulzbot MiniSCAD files for study/modification and and STL files for quick prints
