Heading East

The wind continues to come from your right as you walk east, following a well-worn path. The cabin is no longer visible behind you because a thick mix of conifer trees completely block the view. The trees are not thick along the shore and you begin to feel a chill. The sun is now intermittently covered by the otherwise lovely cumulus clouds rushing in over the lake. Over your shoulder, to the southwest, across the lake, it looks even darker.

You wonder if it is worth going further. There's no telling how big the island is. You are wishing you had consulted a map before agreeing to visit the island.

There's only the choice to go west, back toward the cabin, or to continue along the shore east in spite of the rising wind and the chill.
