This is a tool, similar to Inspiration which is widely used in schools.

One powerful feature of CMAP Tools is a server component which expands the usability of individual concept maps by making them available on a network for others to use.

There are lots of good reasons to use concept mapping. The good people at Thinker Academy offer these suggestions.
