Every field has its special vocabulary.
"The Flipped Classroom" describes students listening to lectures at
home (not classic homework) online or recorded, and the practice,
question/answer time in class.

Long trips are both exciting (typically going somewhere unusual) and
also a little boring (mile after mile of road with those white dashes
to mark the lanes). Snacks can break up the time. They can also help
keep me awake. Some munching and crunching followed by a swig of soda
breaks the miles into manageable blocks. Of course, too much snacking
can require a pit stop, too. But then, the pit stop allows for
replenishing the snack supply, doesn't it?

Though I fell asleep before halftime, I
enjoyed what I saw. Now, I'll have a good excuse to nap all weekend.
The Patriots are playing Monday night. Fortunately, their game starts
at Seven instead of Eight-thirty. What snacks have you organized for
your opening weekend game party?

Nappus interuptus
A nice weekend, longer than normal. It's a great time to sneak in a little nap. What makes us ask the wrong question, anyway?

It is fun to take a long drive to visit relatives in Pennsylvania. The
scenery changes from flat to hilly to mountainous. In Massachusetts, you
can't see farmers' fields much, going west along the Turnpike. But
then, when you get south of Albany, New York, the vistas open and mile
after mile of fields mix with the wooded slopes. In August there
are long rows of round, plastic-wrapped hay bales. They look like giant
marshmallows waiting to be toasted on a campfire. You
pass towns with names you don't see near home; Schoharie, Cobleskill,
Schenevus, Hop Bottom. You wonder what they look like up close, but
generally you only see them flash by from the Interstate.

Real life has a strange way of creeping
into everything one does. Urologists sometimes quote the proverb, "This
too shall pass." which the
Wikipedia article ascribes to the Persians of old.
